Fay Lobo personal and professional journey

Fay has a deep passion for natural holistic living which shines in her interactions with people. Her journey has encountered a variety of practices; yoga, meditation, pranayama, Ayurveda, naturopathy, cranial osteopathy and local bush, are some of the practices and principles that she has integrated into her daily life, healing herself of asthma in the process. Truly living with these practices, with seriousness and open honesty, striving for harmony and balance in her life, Fay’s  commitment to personal healing and growth is an integral and interwoven foundation to the fabric of her professionalism. Fay and her work practices are continually unfolding, renewing and developing.

Fay’s relationship with yoga began in childhood, and it is through the practice of yoga that Fay was able to connect from deep within her being, to her Indian heritage. Completing a teaching certification in Yoga in 2015 meant Fay was able to begin sharing her passion with others. However, it is within her personal practice and study of 40 years, through which she has gained and continued to develop her love, knowledge, integration and appreciation of the art and science of Yoga.

Fay describes motherhood as her greatest joy; giving life and voice to her creativity. Inspired by the potency of holistic living, Fay embraced this with her sons from birth. Fay feels it is this approach of inner connection, truly living holistically as a mother, that has, and continues to be the source of her deepest teaching and learning.

The opportunity of teaching and working with Yoga, with herself and others, serves to continue the process of deep learning and appreciation of the practice.

Fay was active in her community from a young age, which led her into working with community from the age of eighteen. Blessed with many training opportunities, with a focus on communication and interpersonal skills, supported expansion, growth, and a deeper desire and connection to inner healing. Fay then engaged in counselling training, and her own counselling, going on to study and qualify in social work. Broadening, deepening and consolidating her learning and experience by working in both Governmental Statutory sector and non-profit organisations. Covering a diversity of areas such as mental health, disabilities, long term illness, addictions, trauma survivors, and working with culturally diverse individuals and groups, further enhancing learning.

Fay observed; the commonality of human beings, despite differences such as culture, gender, sexuality, how imbalances at any level, lead to pain, suffering, illness, anxiety, dis-ease, and recognised the common need and value of holistic practices and healing. Deep inner connection that supports the process of healing and truth continuously revealing itself is crucial, since to deny any element of oneself , simply denies wholeness and health.

As Fay began teaching Yoga, she found energy to be naturally channeling though her, the sensations were familiar as she’d experienced energy healing. Then began an inner process of remembering previous experiences, to the recognition and acceptance, that she had been born to heal. Fay undertook training in the art of Reiki levels 1 and 2, then Master level and the teaching of Reiki.

Initiation into Reiki, opened a deeper level of healing within. Fay found she was able to feel so much through touch, and was reminded of the words of her  cranial osteopath from many years earlier, that she had this work within her….

Reiki sharing with an experienced Master Reiki practitioner affirmed this.

Working with a UK trained osteopath, locally in Grenada, being guided to feel crainiosacral work with a bedridden person recovering from stroke, gave Fay the opportunity to really get a feel for this work. Joining an online learning group with another very experienced UK crainiosacral osteopath furthered her curiosity in this field and a desire to further her theoretical knowledge. Fay engaged in a foundational Anatomy and Physiology Course with a UK based  Ayurvedic centre, appreciating the need for deep and ongoing learning in the complexities of the human workings. In New York Fay undertook an intensive course, in the Gillespie Approach to Crainiosacral Fascial Therapy which served to deepen her skills and practice, and her desire for continuing her learning in this field. Currently Fay is delighted to be extending her knowledge and appreciation of this practice with Crainiosacral Therapy Education Trust in the UK where she is undertaking a two year  Biodynamic Crainiosacral Therapy training.

Fay is truly committed to the unfolding and ongoing process of personal healing and transformation, and to integrating this with her professional development.
